Healing

Healing

“A problem cannot be solved on the same level of consciousness  that created it.” – Albert Einstein

Healing is a hard thing to pin down.  People can feel when it has occurred, but may never actually know what it is, what it did, or even what changed.  It is about the quality, the feeling of an experience.  It may be hard to graph.  And it never quite happens in the same way twice.

Healing can happen slowly, like a stream patiently cutting through rock over centuries, or quickly, like a lightning strike or a flash of insight.

We all have the capacity to heal.  Sometimes it’s a matter of getting obstacles out of the way.  Even when it takes much effort and work, when healing actually occurs, it can feel effortless, like a moment of grace.

Often, healing comes when people have the courage to explore something new, something different from the habits and patterns that have brought them to seek care.

This can mean a new diet.  A new relationship with the body.  A new way of thinking.  A new approach to relationships.  An emotional release.  An intimacy.  A letting go.  An acceptance.  A spiritual experience. Or an everyday experience.

Regardless of the change, it is rooted in a person’s choice to be well.  It is not something that can be done to someone from the outside.

Patient-Centred to help you re-focus and re-energize

All of the practitioners at the Sweet Medicine Centre pay attention to healing-oriented medicine.  So while we also will manage symptoms and attempt to bring relief, we see illness as an not only something to manage, but also as an opportunity for transformation.  And we will do our best to notice when the healing can occur or is happening, and do what we can to support it as the process unfolds.

When healing happens, symptoms may fade away, and never come back.
